N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is a derivative of the amino acid cysteine. It is used by the body to produce glutathione, a powerful endogenous antioxidant. NAC oﬀers numerous health beneﬁts, such as liver protection, a reduction of inﬂammation and enhancement of cognitive function.
